Linda Radtke
Alto
Middlesex

Linda Radtke, alto, is one of the original members of Counterpoint, and has participated in all 5 of their recording projects. She also sings in Robert DeCormier's vocal quartet, Ah!Capella, sponsored by the Vermont Symphony Orchestra, which presents programs in public schools, introducing students to a variety of vocal styles.
A native of Seneca Falls, NY, and a graduate of Rutgers University and the University of Vermont, Radtke is a well-known soloist in Vermont, especially in sacred music and oratorio. She has appeared as a soloist with the Vermont Symphony Orchestra, the Vermont Mozart Festival, the Oriana Singers, and the Vermont Philharmonic. In theatre, favorite roles include the title role in Carmen, the Mother Abbess and Maria in separate productions of Sound of Music, Dulcinea in Man of La Mancha, and Guinevere in Camelot. She has performed almost all of the alto roles in Gilbert and Sullivan operettas, and is a dedicated Savoyard.
The state of Vermont sponsored Radtke's historical research into Vermont songs, resulting in a state-wide tour of Two Hundred Years of Vermont Popular Music. She has presented all-Schumann and all-Ives recitals --and has a special affection for Rogers and Hart standards. Radtke produces and hosts a weekly program Vermont Notes on WCVT (101.7), Vermont's classical music station, which highlights musical events in the area. She recently retired after 30 years teaching in the public schools and lives in an old farmhouse in Middlesex with her husband, Bob Jervis.
