Brett Murphy, who describes
himself as "the other gray beard" in the group, was
raised in Lake Carmel, N.Y. in the Hudson River Valley.
He started singing there and later on Staten Island,
while studying at Wagner College. He and wife, Carol
raised three children -- Christopher, Rebekah, and
Andrew. Brett works as a reading teacher and special
educator at Spaulding High School in Barre, where he
coordinates the Skills Center. In addition to singing
with Counterpoint, he is a member of the Vermont
Symphony Orchestra's quartet, AH! Cappella which
presents concerts to Vermont's school children. He has
worked with Mr. De Cormier on numerous recording
projects. Brett appears as a soloist with the VSO Chorus
and directs the Choir of St. Mary's Church. For years,
he performed renaissance cathedral music with Vox Sacra.
Brett serves as a member of
the Board of Trustees and treasurer of the Brookhaven
Home for Boys in Chelsea, VT. He enjoys gardening,
cooking, and reading mysteries. |
