Stephen Falbel is a newcomer
to Vermont and is very excited to be joining
Counterpoint. Originally from Connecticut, he spent some
20 years in the Boston area, performing with such groups
as the Handel & Haydn Society, the Boston Camerata, the
Schola Cantorum of Boston, and the Choir of the Church
of the Advent. With the Camerata, he performed on five
recordings, including the national bestseller, Simple
Gifts. His solo work includes the Monteverdi
Vespers of 1610, Stradella's Esule dalla Sfere,
Bach's B Minor Mass and Magnificat,
Mozart's Requiem, and Distler's Choralpassion.
In 2000, he performed music of Schütz at the Vermont
Millennium Music Festival.
During the day, Stephen
works as a transportation planning consultant, helping
to improve public transit systems. He resides in
Montpelier with his wife and two children. |
